State CPS Teachers and Employees Union Submits Representation to the Chief Secretary
Hyderabad: The State CPS Teachers and Employees Union has strongly urged the state government to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for teachers and employees in Telangana who were appointed prior to September 1, 2004.
Union President Damuka Kamalakar and General Secretary Cheeti Bhupathi Rao met Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao at the State Secretariat on Wednesday and submitted a formal representation regarding this demand.
The union leaders pointed out that the neighboring Andhra Pradesh government has already decided to implement the Old Pension Scheme for employees appointed before September 1, 2004, who were previously brought under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). They have appealed to the Telangana government to follow suit and make a similarly favorable decision for its employees.
