HYDERABAD: The Telangana state government has extended the application deadline for the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scheme to October 15, 2026. The scheme provides financial assistance of up to ₹20 lakh to Backward Classes (BC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC) students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad.
Students seeking admissions in foreign universities for the Fall 2026 session (August/September intake) can now submit their applications through the official Telangana ePASS portal.
Key Highlights of the Scheme
Extended Deadline: The earlier deadline of September 30 has been pushed back to October 15, 2026, providing additional time for prospective students to apply.
Financial Aid: Selected candidates receive up to ₹20 lakh towards tuition fees, along with a one-way economy air ticket and visa charges.
Beneficiaries: A total of 350 students (250 BC and 100 EBC candidates) will be selected under this phase to pursue Post-Graduation, Ph.D., and professional courses abroad.
Eligible Countries: USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, France, and South Korea.
Eligibility Criteria
Family Income: Annual family income must be below ₹5 lakh from all sources.
Age Limit: Applicants must not be older than 35 years of age.
Academic Record: A minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying undergraduate degree.
Qualifying Tests:
GRE: Minimum 260 or GMAT: Minimum 500
Language Proficiency: TOEFL (Min 60), IELTS (Min 6.0 Band), or PTE (Min 50)

Eligible candidates must complete their online registration by visiting the official website: telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in. Applicants are advised to keep their academic memos, caste and income certificates, passport details, admission letters (I-20/Unconditional offer letter), and test scorecards ready for uploading before submitting their applications.
